Hello, my name is Michelle H. Harrell!  Art TeacherSchool: Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School, Raleigh NC Home town: Clayton, NC Favorite Artists: Van Gogh, Monet, O' Keefe, Hopper, and Diebenkorn Favorite Medium: Oil paint on Canvas and Lino-cut Printmaking  MORE ABOUT ME... My favorite artwork so far this semester was a print I just completed that I've titled "After Sunburn." It's a 4 state reduction lino-cut. The process is similiar to stamping an image but I cut the stamp myself. Each color is a different state which means a separate stage of cutting and inking. The inspiration was a photograph I took myself on vacation with my family at Carolina Beach. While I'm happy with the overall effect, I would have drawn the clouds differently since they are such a focal point in the image.
